Prom night is coming up fast – you’ve got the dream dress and dream date but your look isn’t complete just yet! Don’t forget that you’ll be snapping plenty of pictures and flashing your pearly whites for the camera. Get your smile camera ready with these easy to follow tips:

.) Brushing – this one might seem obvious, but some of us don’t brush long enough to properly clean our teeth. Set a timer and brush for two minutes with a soft bristle tooth brush.

.) Floss once per day. Brushing isn’t enough – you need to keep the leftover food debris from staying wedged in-between your teeth and causing bad breath and cavities.

.) Rinse your mouth out twice per day to help fight bad breath and bacteria.

.) Schedule a cleaning with your dentist. Plaque and tartar buildup need to be professionally cleaned to give you a truly sparkling smile.

.) On prom night, keep lipstick on your lips by rubbing a small amount of vaseline over your teeth to prevent it from sticking.

.) Sip soda, tea and coffee through a straw to keep it from staining your teeth. Rinse your mouth out after drinking these beverages.

.) Pre-prom, avoid foods that stain your teeth: grape and cranberry juice, tea, soda, coffee, tomato and soy sauce, beets and blueberries. Opt for stain preventative foods like apples, carrots, celery and cauliflower.
